The Dallas Geological Society Scholarship Fund was created to promote education in earth science and since 1970, has provided one-year awards of up to $5,000 in honor of five former members. The Helsewick, Shepherd, Sistrunk, Stanley and Dodge Scholarships are awarded every year to current Geological Sciences undergraduate and graduate students who reside in or have a parent who resides in the Dallas area.
