Mind Matters is an organization dedicated to providing quality low-cost mental health services (individual therapy, group therapy, testing services) to those with limited or no access to mental healthcare due to financial, geographical, or other barriers to receiving the care they want and need.

Vision

Mind Matters: reducing barriers to mental health treatment in the North Texas area.

Mission

  • To provide low-cost therapy and assessment services to community members in need, including individuals, couples, families, groups, and organizations.

  • To increase the number of highly-competent psychologists and therapists entering the workforce by providing an excellent training program.

  • To reduce barriers to education and licensure for trainees, including providing outstanding supervision, access to a diverse body of lecturers and educators, and financial support for advanced education opportunities, licensure expenses, and educational grants.

Mind Matters DFW strives to improve mental, physical, and emotional wellness for communities, families, and individuals. They recognize that the appropriate assessment and treatment of mental health issues is an integral part of the pursuit of wellness. They strive to utilize the most appropriate assessment approaches and the most effective treatment methods possible. Mind Matters DFW values the wellness of its clients, clinicians, trainees, and staff, as well as the overall wellness of the North Texas community.

Justice

Mind Matters is committed to creating an accessible, equitable environment within their organization, and to advocating for inclusion, accessibility, and justice-oriented policies in their communities. They recognize that systemic and individual oppression causes a substantial disruption to the wellness of their communities. They work against racism, sexism, heterosexism, audism, ableism, sizeism, and all other systems of injustice that serve to perpetuate oppression.

Education

Mind Matter DFW values education at all levels of the organization and strives to ensure that its clinicians, trainees, and staff maintain the highest levels of expertise and qualification. They recognize that ongoing clinician training is necessary to provide the most reliable, evidence-based treatments, and are committed to ensuring their staff is up to date on the most recent developments in the field. In addition to providing high-quality education and supervision to clinical trainees, they are committed to providing outreach and education to individuals, families, and communities.
